Greek Tapas

Tonight I should be sat in a taverna in Skiathos, living my best life….. but Covid-19 ruined my holiday plans….. again! Luckily for me I discovered Private Chef Christos!

Christos Georgakis is Managing Director of ‘Foodisy Ltd’, offering personal chef services for everything from private dinner parties to corporate lunches to cooking lessons. Like many businesses, his plans for 2020 were thrown into chaos by the Coronavirus pandemic. But he’s put his skills to good use by offering Greek Tapas every Friday and a Restaurant Pop Up with home delivery every Saturday.

Christos was born and raised in Greece, where his passion for cooking was ignited at his family’s restaurant in Athens. He has worked as Head Chef in restaurants across Greece, France, England and Wales, including The Ship Inn, King Arthur Hotel and Maes-yr-Haf based here in Swansea.

I decided upon the Greek Tapas. This box of delights included the following:

  • Spanakopitakia (Spinach Filo Pastry)
  • Tyropitakia (Greek Feta Cheese Filo Pastry)
  • Lemon & Garlic Tiger Prawns
  • Halloumi & Roast Vegetable Skewers
  • Chicken Souvlaki
  • Vine Leaves
  • Greek Village Sausage
  • Swordfish & Cherry Tomato Skewers
  • Giant Beans Cooked in Tomato & Dill Sauce
  • Sesame Sticks & Pita Bread
  • Greek Salad with Feta Cheese & Olives
  • Fava Dip
  • Roast Red Pepper Hummus Dip
  • Tzatziki Dip
  • Sweet Greek Treat

The food is all produced in his kitchen in Pennard, Gower, using fresh local ingredients. It arrived presented in a cardboard box, with heating instructions. There were a beautiful selection of authentic Greek snacks, just like those I have eaten on the Greek Islands on past travels. It was all delicious but if I had to choose a favourite item it would probably be the Swordfish skewers!

The Greek Tapas selection for 2 that I received was £25 (there is also a £16.50 version). To order, contact Christos on 07858 070125. Highly recommended!
