It’s been a while since I last posted….. mainly because this is a travel blog, which ironically I set up in January 2020, just weeks before a global pandemic hit! So here we are, a year later, and travel plans are still on hold. The trips I postponed, rearranged and cancelled from 2020 are now being postponed, rearranged and cancelled from 2021! Amsterdam, San Sebastian and Nerja have all been cancelled for a second time. Three times I failed to make it to Seville, and Skiathos is hanging in the balance for the second summer running! I have more airline vouchers than I know what to do with, but I can’t complain as I’ve managed to stay safe and well and recently had my first Covid vaccination. Thank you to our wonderful NHS and groundbreaking scientists.
So it’s time for a change of tack with the blog! I’m fortunate to live in a very beautiful part of the country, on the doorstep of the Gower Peninsula with its breathtaking beaches and increasing number of fabulous foodie experiences. Barely an hour further west is the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, an hour east is the capital city of Cardiff. So there are plenty of local areas for me to explore and blog about. If there’s one thing that lockdown has instilled in me, it’s to enjoy the little things. We often take for granted what is on our doorstep. It wasn’t until the local beaches were just out of reach due to restrictions that I realised how much I longed for them. Last week I walked barefoot across Oxwich Bay in the spring sunshine and I felt like I’d found paradise.

So what to expect from my blog next….. Lots of photographs of the Welsh coastline! I have an obsession with taking photographs of our beaches! Lots of reviews of local food. Working in the hospitality sector myself I know how hard the past year has been and I really want to give these businesses a boost. I look forward to exploring and sharing my thoughts…
